Appearance
Camelia Cotton is a somewhat old woman, and while considered fairly fit for her age can immediately be identified as such. Her hair became solid white at a somewhat young age, and to those aware of the supernatural it even feels as soft as cotton. This on its own is plenty enough to have others consider her 'old', but years of working a desk job have also taken a slight toll on her vision and fine joints- furthering this matter. Her eyes notably seem to lack a pupil but this does not make her blind; she simply needs reading glasses.

That aside, she's hardly got one foot in the grave. While she has yet to accrue any advantages as something 'supernatural', she's athletic enough to still go on regular, albeit short hikes with a level of zeal. She takes care to do exercises in her home as well, engaging herself in her hobbies as much as possible.

Over all the result is the appearance of a very ordinary, even if short- she's only 4'11''- old woman. Thanks to her heat resistance she often wears layered sweaters and shawls, as well as a comfortable hat. This doesn't change in the summer, much to the confusion of many.

To the surprise of many, her appearance hides a couple of supernatural secrets however- first is her skin, as hard as any dragon's would be. The second is her hair itself; a number of white snakes, apparent tiny pythons, are hiding in there. She's quite fond of them.

Other Devices
Although Cotton lacks the unique devices of those who more actively partake in combat, that does not make her entirely unarmed. Being a member of Zodiac, she is sometimes assigned tools on loan for the purposes of on-field tasks.

In addition to such things however, Cotton herself is not as tech-oblivious as one would expect. In part out of a desire to keep up with her adopted relative’s interests, she does her best to stay aware of how computers function and update. While she hardly has a ‘full gaming kit’ given her budget (and for that matter her personal interests), she maintains a relatively worn, but nonetheless functioning desktop computer that she occasionally changes the hardware for.

Naturally this also means she has a proper smartphone- in fact, she’s often the first one to ask if someone wants her to look something up with it, being quick to point out that if they’re given the tools to do something, it would be silly not to use them for it. She got herself a flip-phone type, preferring to keep the screen covered.
ZODIAC DEVICE HISTORY
As part of her benefits from Zodiac, Cotton is granted certain tools ‘on loan’ for her work as an employee. At the moment, devices Libra users of Kaisou will have seen from her are few however, and it’s possible that they may not have seen them at all; Cotton is often given ‘home base’ duties, as her age and lack of supernatural ability makes combat something of an impossibility.

Known Devices
🐑 Shield Emitter • A device which activates a shield. While incredibly durable, this shield can only be held for 2 minutes. 1hr Recharge.

🐑 Nullifier • Power nullification device. When activated, all powers within the vicinity will be neutralized for 2 minutes. 1hr recharge.

Beyond this, any other devices of note in Cotton’s possession are listed under ‘Unique Items’.

Soul Abilities;
Persona hestia | combat type
Persona Skills · spirit drain ·
Dresspheres trainer
PERSONA: HESTIA
A manifestation of Cotton's soul, access of which was granted by the Gacha Goodwill. Hestia can only appear in brief moments of casting, due to the constant magic drain- however when they do, they appear to encircle Cotton herself in a protective embrace, arms shaped akin to a large, round 'hearth'. The almost tear-drop shaped oven tops itself with the serene face of a woman, though depending on the light some could mistake it for a witch instead.

Hestia’s Abilities
Currently Hestia is equipped with only one ability; the skill 'Spirit Drain', which steals a portion of magical energy from an enemy to add to Cotton's own pool.

DRESSPHERES
Akin to a ‘Class Shift’, Dresspheres allow Cotton to access a variety of abilities she otherwise lacks. At the moment she has one Dressphere, that of the Trainer, or Summoner. She finds it familiar, and for a good reason; Cotton’s past life as ‘Cotton Cookie’ was one such cookie, summoning and commanding flocks of sheep.

Dressphere Abilities
🐑 Trainer • A dressphere which garbs Cotton in the clothes of a forgotten homeland, equipping her with a shepherd’s crook and lantern. While wearing this outfit, Cotton summons a fluffy ‘cream cotton sheep’ and becomes capable of the following abilities:
  • Animal Companion · A summoned cream cotton sheep, which follows Cotton's commands without question. They primarily attack by ramming opponents, but it seems they aren't meant to do this alone.

Visuals for Cotton’s Dresspheres are found below.

Pets + Creatures;
Amphibians + Fish · Paludarium

On her own time, Cotton keeps a somewhat large ‘paludarium’ that she’s worked with over a multitude of years. It’s a fairly eclectic build, using local materials and very little actual mechanics beyond a filtering ‘waterfall’. Despite this- or perhaps because of it- the temperature within it is somewhat cooler than most tanks, maintaining a high level of humidity.

This type of tank is precisely what the creatures inside it need however. While primarily home to fish and shrimp in the water portion, there are also unique, northern habitat frogs that prefer the land portion for hunting. She calls it her personal ecosystem.
Cream Cotton Sheep · Summon

Unlike creatures such as pokemon or even pets, the cream cotton sheep summoned with her Dressphere outfit doesn’t stay around when the costume is discarded. Cotton thus wonders where it goes during downtime. It doesn’t seem uncomfortable, so it must be alright she thinks.
Aake · Palisman

A wooden jackdaw that appeared in Cotton's craft room, trying to steal wool. Cotton took it in, and it seems to enjoy roosting at the end of her magic broom now. They're quite a lot more helpful than she expected, and she finds the bird rather charming. He's named in part for an old fable about eagles and jackdaw.
The Shoebill · Outside

While she expects plenty of geese and small birds, recently a large shoebill has started to take residence outside of Cotton's house. It isn't violent or anything, and is actually polite enough to bow their head when she leaves for work, but she's a little worried about any smaller animals in her area as a result.
Oolong · Tea Friend

A delightful living teapot Cotton purchased from the Goodwill- and she has no regrets. While she doesn't especially make a lot of oolong with them, they seem quite happy to serve whatever brew she's inclined to drink that day.

Unique Items;
WORN ITEMS

Dressphere (Trainer)
Technically a magical, innate object, this item places Cotton in a traditional shepherd’s costume from a far-away land. It allows her to access the magic of a ‘Trainer’.

Purse
A new purse that Cotton received from the Goodwill. She’s needed to replace her old one for a while, so it was good timing. She tends to store spare pens and snacks in it.

Oversized Fur Coat
An incredibly large, and incredibly large fur coat. Grandma deserves a treat.

Ring
A simple, but elegant ring. She doesn't wear it much, but it's nice to have the option.

Cape of Bees
Potentially the most dangerous thing in her wardrobe, even after her dressphere; while wearing this gaudy cape, swishing it unleashes bees!

Magic Shawl
A wonderful, simple shawl, commissioned from Santa by her coworker Rika. It grants a large amount of telekinesis in addition to 'sturdy', so she often wears it while commuting by broom.

Scarf + Bonnet
A lovely gift from Belle, which Cotton spent much of winter wearing. It's a cozy set, and one that suits her quite a bit.

Pearl Necklace
Like the ring, there's nothing too special about it, but it's nice to have a fancy option sometimes.
House + Home

Good Candles
A set of lovely candles which came inside a heart shaped box from the Goodwill. They're all fantastic quality, but Cotton isn't sure when the best time to actually use them is.

Magic Flyswatter
A unique flyswatter which appears in Cotton’s hand whenever she has need of it. Whether she can actually hit the insect in question is yet to be seen, but it’s certainly handy.

Thermometer
A wall thermometer which Cotton has placed near the balcony door. There is a label on it in marker which reads ‘keep it here’; Cotton herself tends to misjudge how hot it actually is.

Chopsticks
A normal set of chopsticks. Cotton knows how to use them, but does she know how to avoid knitting her noodles? Time will tell.

Unlimited Mapo Tofu
It's a lifetime supply of spicy 'Mapo Tofu'; Cotton's never had it before now, but as it's very tasty, she delights very much in her 'Mapo Tofu Box'.

Glutton's Fork
A magical fork that can be used to turn three items a day into 'illusion' food- such as a book becoming a 'book cake'. It's very fun, but Cotton needs to be careful with it.

Money Trash Can
A fascinating little garbage can that gives money when properly used. Cotton's making a neat little side bundle with this, as she keeps it at work.

Advent Calendar Spices
A series of incredibly good quality spices collected from a spare advent calendar at the Goodwill. She tried to revive Janet's potato salad with some of these, but alas, not everything can be salvaged.

Mittens + Pot Holders
A set from Belle's christmas gift, which has the theme of cooking cats- each piece says 'made from scratch', and Cotton makes an effort to use these when she cooks at Meropide.

Maxima's Christmas Cooking Gear
Delivered via Secret Santa, Cotton received not only a vintage holiday apron, but also various holiday themed cookie cutters- they came with a bag of peppermint candies to boot.
Miscellaneous

Screaming Rubber Chicken
She found it in her back with her thermometer from the Goodwill. It seems like it would be a fun toy for a dog, but Cotton doesn’t have such a pet. For now it’s in a drawer to be returned when she thinks of it.

Yarn
A ball of yarn that Cotton will be using for knitting. What she’ll knit with it is a mystery, but it looks very soft.

Chapter Books
A set of chapter books from a series she read as a child. She couldn't find these books as an adult, so they have a very special place on her shelf now.

Holy Rubber Duck
When it's on her person, this rubber duck causes local ducks to follow Cotton around. She's quite charmed by it.

Magic Rainstick
It's a rainstick that creates 10x10 foot microbursts of rain whenever it's used. Cotton hasn't noticed yet, but the people outside her window would probably like her to stop.

Kazoo
Simple plastic buzzer toy it may be, but while most would toss it away, Cotton can't help but feel nostalgic with things like this. Naturally, she kept it.

Void Denny's Membership
A unique card that she can present at Void Denny's for a random meal as desired. Unfortunately, while her spice tolerance is high, her tolerance for alien foods makes this a rare use device.

Advent Playset
Technically a model trainset calendar, Cotton found herself stocked primarily with plastic trees. This wasn't bad however; now she can use them for her knit displays when she wants a forest.

Advent Ventis
Numerous pieces of Venti/HolyHimmel merchandise came from her second spare calendar, and as oblivious as Cotton was to the matter, she thought much of it rather charming. As such, it's scattered through her home- and many of the figurines seem to be gaining little sweaters or scarves, finding themselves part of her knit displays.

Sir Bear
An adorable teddy bear, garbed in armor. Cotton lets it sit on one of her living room chairs.
WEAPONS + TOOLS

Knitting Needle Knives
They appeared to be a mere set of knitting needles, but as it turns out, they're actually knives; Cotton doesn't know how to fight with them, but she's thinking of learning to defend herself with them at least.

Fireball Jellies
For some reason, the term 'jellies' is familiar to her. It's an entire jar of 'jellies', but they're actually fire pellets. If eaten, or thrown, they detonate into a burst of flames. Fortunately, there's a warning on the jar.

Magic Broomstick
Despite looking like a regular broom, it can actually fly! She's saving its first 'drive' for Halloween, but might use it more regularly for commutes if it's smooth enough.

Flaws + Boons Fire Month · Increased Magic Affinity
Water Month · Severe Magic Weakness
    • Bad Vision · Low (Needs Reading Glasses)
    • Joint Pain · Low (Slight Finger Arthritis)
As a rather old woman, Cotton herself lacks much of what could be called a true 'ability'. She's fit for her age, but the term 'for her age' is still quite key. While she's capable of joining others on short hikes, perhaps even enjoying a camping trip, it's far cry from the flips and punches that many others in Kaisou seem able to pull off.

Still, her years of experience leave her as a surprisingly helpful ally with regard to sense and puzzles. Cotton is incredibly difficult to phase and anger, which allows her to approach many situations with an air of calm. She's capable of reasoning out problems that others might be too frustrated to see logic in, or simply calming the mood of others with nothing but words.

That said, she is not completely incapable of magic. In addition to an innate understanding of animal emotions, she is elementally in tune with Fire magic in Kaisou. During months in which this element is stronger, her magic therefore flares in tune with it. In contrast however, during water months her magic is often so weak that it appears not to be there at all.
    Fire Element Abilities
🐑 Conjure Fire • Low Level
    • The ability to conjure a tiny flame; the amount emitted by a lighter.
🐑 Conjure Fireworks • Medium Level
    • The ability to conjure small-scale fireworks, of any color.
    🐑 Elemental Weapon Creation • 24HR Limit
    • The ability to conjure a single weapon out of flame; the more famliar with the weapon, the stronger it can be.
🐑 Fire Manipulation • Low Level
    • The ability to manipulate small, candle-sized flames. She can make them grow larger, or snuff them out; however, she cannot create fire from nothing.
🐑 Heat Manipulation • Low Level
    • A slightly unreliable ability to alter the heat levels of objects via skin contact.
🐑 Heat Resistance • Low Level
    • An innate ability which makes it difficult for Cotton to determine the true temperature of a room. She is incapable of feeling truly ‘hot’ until temperatures reach 100°F, or 38°C.
    🐑 Inspiration • Low Level
    • By giving a 'shonen' speech of some kind, up to 4 people can have their strength boosted for 2 minutes by 1.5.
🐑 Liquid Heating • High Level
    • The ability to heat liquid to a boiling temperature. Cotton is capable of doing this to a bathtub's worth of water.
🐑 Spice Tolerance • Medium Level
    • An innate tolerance for spices that can be considered ‘unbeatable’- particularly for an elderly woman of her upbringing. She considers ghost peppers to be mild.
    General Abilities
🐑 Animal Empathy • A limited form of Animal Communication, which allows her to understand the emotions of all animals.

🐑 Butter-no-Jutsu • A fantastic ability that allows Cotton to make copies of anything, made of butter. Used primarily for baking.

🐑 Magic Crafting • An innate ability to weave enchantments and pockets for enchantments into her craftwork. The potential increases when using magic material.

    🐑 Prophecy • Medium
    • Cotton is a mild prophet, receiving the urge to knit certain images and objects according to impulses of what is yet to come in the next month. While relatively unaware of this ability, it will not likely be long before someone connects the dots.
    Monster Abilities
    🐑 Hardened Skin • Medium
    • A change attributed to becoming a Dragon. While Cotton's skin doesn't look any different, it is now much harder and difficult to pierce.

    Housing;
    Cathedral Hill Townhouse
When Cotton first got her job with Zodiac, she remained with her family in their old home at Cathedral Hill; it was one of a small number of houses built in a terrace row, surrounded by quiet pockets of development that would one day branch out into various neighborhoods and places of worship. With plenty of parks and trees, it had been the perfect place for spirit-sensitive people to live.

Cotton would however, ultimately never leave that house- her parents left it to her when they retired, considering it a final gift and possibly investment opportunity for her future. Cotton in turn was quite comfortable there, and by the time it fell upon her to take Susie in, had no good reason to pack up and move elsewhere. The house after all, had already been a little large for two- and Cotton's parents had one part moved into a nursing home, and another laid to rest in one of the many nearby graveyards.

The Cathedral Hill Townhouse is a simple, but semi-classic place. It's no 'Brownstone', but it has some age to it, having been built for some time when Cotton first moved in. Upgrades have since been made to keep plumbing and electricity up to date, however. The house is a three storey, three bedroom structure, with a bay window front and a garage to the back. By technicality, the house has no true backyard as a result- instead having a small front yard with a gated fence leading to a path between the house rows.
Because of the structure of the house, there isn't much on that ground floor level aside from the garage itself. Entering from the front door brings one to Susie's ground floor study as well as the powder room, and in the garage itself can be found shelves and under-stair storage for coats and shoes.

The first floor up from here is where most of the living spaces are; the kitchen is what draws the eye first, but from there is the dining and living area, the latter fitted with a gas fireplace and a view out that continuing bay window. Moving from the kitchen however is the main floor bathroom, as well as what used to be the spare bedroom- something that has since been converted partly into Cotton's 'hobby room', hosting paludariums and other projects.

Lastly then is the top floor, where the bedrooms are- both bedrooms have their own bathroom, and Cotton notably has the smaller of the two. While Susie's bedroom sits above the hobby room, Cotton's room carries the continuing bay window, and has a small sitting nook where she often reads before bed.

    'DEAR' PERMISSIONS (temporary)

This will eventually be bundled onto a cleaner reference page, but for until then this page will be handling the quick and dirty question of:

    "Does Cotton Call You Dear?"

Cotton's technically probably closer to being the age of some character's moms, but as we can all see- this woman is Grandma Coded. To that end, casual endearment is her thing.

In particular- 'Dear', and 'Dearie' can be expected, but Cotton is the type to respect if someone doesn't WANT that.

(And so am I, the player. Wink wink.)

So! To keep it simple, please comment below with the answers to the following questions:

Has your character met Cotton offscreen?
Cotton works at Zodiac, but she does have a life in Kaisou outside the building. Maybe your character ran into her- it's your choice. Alternatively, this can be handwaved if an awkward 'don't call me this' thread is to be avoided.

Would they ask not to be called, or otherwise show discomfort at being called Dear or Dearie?
If you Want Cotton to call them Dear/Dearie despite the character disliking it, make sure the tells aren't clear. Otherwise, just note if they asked her not to- or, if they were just obviously not happy about it.

Do you, the Player, not want Cotton to call your character Dear or Dearie?
Simply put- if you just don't want to see those words used with your character, tell me!

I'll leave this page up even after the info page is ready, so existing answers can be referred to.

    Character Name: Cotton Cookie (Elder)
    Canon: Cookie Run Kingdom
    Canon History: Here

    Canon Personality:

Cotton Cookie's foremost trait in the series, young and old, is ultimately her kind nature. Many of the traits displayed in her youth are retained in her age, but this is the one which shines through most. From the young girl who took time out of her day to care for and tend to a sickly friend, to the girl-and eventual-elder who knit gifts for a deity on the regular, her heart is something she opens for all whom she meets...no matter their initial seeming intentions.

As an empathetic person, she could be brought to tears at the thought of her friends experiencing pain or danger- and as an elderly woman, while not seen to cry on screen, she has shown clear worry and fuss at the very idea of even relative strangers meeting harm. Notably, she is never seen to grow truly angry- though she shouted and argued with the Frost Queen in her youth, she was quick to default to trust and kindness, despite having little reason to believe in the Queen's own words.

These optimistic traits come with a streak of well-natured trickery as well; or at least, harmless teasing. It's unclear if Cotton truly believes in the existence of Yeti (though given her interactions with the Frost Queen, she likely does), but she tells the story of them to Snow Sugar with a dramatic, but gentle flair. It speaks of experience doing this with other children, emphasizing the spooky dangers of the unknown in ways that thrill the little ones.

Cotton has never been 'all fluff' however; she's a ferociously determined and brave one, perhaps more so due to the seeming lack of anger in her. Aside from merely putting herself out for the sake of others as an old woman- traversing the cold as long as possible to deliver her gifts, and even then doing what was possible to visit others who could deliver things in her stead- her younger and more energetic self was more than willing to venture across frigid wilds to even secure a chance to help her friend; something she knew was not necessarily a guarantee, however much she hoped it would be. This determination was such that she took this trek even at the cost of her body- Cotton was injured during this time, and could have lost her own life as well. Even before this, she boldly declared to her friend that she would fight off any who would take him with her very staff. ...Not that such blows were ever traded of course.

For all that the elderly cookie doesn't have such strength to prove herself in her age, this is clearly the same person however matured and weakened in age. Even still she speaks only of the best of people as she sees it, aiding others of her village with a caring heart. She is perhaps a little melancholic at times- remembering in her dreams that friend of hers she risked her life to save- but Cotton keeps an optimistic view on the world around her, acting as a light for all around her.

    AU Name: Camelia Cotton
    AU Age: 64
    AU Birthday: Nov 18

    AU History:
🐑 Born on a sheep farm, Cotton's early years were spent surrounded by the country and tending to sheep. Before she could start high school, someone bought up her family farm- unknown to her, this was because it was situated almost directly over a site of magic.
🐑 As a consequence of having spent so much time over such a location, her family acquired various minor traits or abilities, making it difficult for her father to find new work. He would eventually get hired by Zodiac- that, or a company which would one day go on to form Zodiac.
🐑 Due to this, Cotton- whose own 'abilities' manifested simply as soft hair and innate understanding of the wildlife- was able to obtain a job with the same company after leaving high school. Simple desk work, but a job was a job.
🐑 Time would pass, and Cotton stuck with the company- or at least whatever carried her to Zodiac, if Zodiac didn't exist in the 80s- and while minor promotions occurred she would only ever go as far as secretarial office work, albeit with a lot of seniority.
🐑 A seeming permanent fixture of the building now, there's debate going around on if she'll actually retire by the next year; finances are still a bit tricky in her words, and she also likes having something to do.
🐑 As it stands, she's been in Kaisou ever since that farm was bought up- her over all response to this spike in the supernatural has thus been 'oh my- how exciting!'

    AU Personality Differences:
🐑 Without the ceiling of CRK's media portrayal limits, Cotton more overtly has experience in dealing with Loss, recognizing the more grim aspects of tragedy. This doesn't change her kindness, but rather makes her capable of addressing it.
🐑 It would be more accurate to say her personality is 'elaborated' on than 'different'- the 'real world' allows her to be more clearly patient with others, expressing no worse than calm disapproval during true disagreement. In her words, violence only begets sour moods and more violence, and she simply hasn't the time for that kind of thing.
🐑 As it stands, she's willing to stab at the harsh truth of a situation if she feels someone has been truly foolish; she'll still do it with a side offering of a cup of hot cocoa.

    Element: Fire
    Purchased Flaws:
🐑 Bad Vision - Low - Cotton needs reading glasses. (+1)
🐑 Joint Pain - Low - She's pretty spry given her age, but using powers (among other fine tasks) still hurts! (+1)
    Purchased Powers:
    🐑 Animal Empathy (1)
🐑 Low Heat Resistance (1, Fire Element)
🐑 Medium Spice Tolerance (2, Fire Element)
🐑 Medium Prophecy (2); Cotton knits her prophecies, as vaguely relevant objects, patterns, or even simple images. She doesn't really think about it as she knits.
    Appearance Regains:
🐑 Low Hair Change - Her hair is astonishingly fluffy and soft...almost like cotton! (It's not cotton)
🐑 Low Eye Change - Her eyes seem to lack a pupil. She promises these aren't cataracts.

    Cotton Cookie
The elderly Camelia Cotton- often known simply as Cotton, Grandma Cotton, and even 'Ms. Cookie' given her habit of baking- is a warm sight at Courtsheart. She hobbles about between her classes and checks in with most that she knows, often asking about their evening before going on her way. A dilligent student, she spends much of her free time either baking in the kitchens, or knitting near a fire. Her patience knows no bounds, and her sense of humor seems suitably dark for one hailing from the far North- it seems the Blue Court suits her.

The rooms Cotton calls her own are simple, as are all Novice bedrooms. Entering the room one can see the bed, which is neatly made and typically uncurtained. At the side with the writing desk and bookshelf there are signs of some use, but it is clear Cotton spends most studying time within the libraries and classrooms; it is easier to have one weigh in on her work, and to weigh in on other's works that way.

The other end with the wardrobe and dressing area is simple- the screen is constantly unfolded, as Cotton finds it troublesome to be constantly putting it away, and she often uses the chair there to simply knit in during the evenings. In the attached washroom there is kept a chair for in her shower, though she looks forward to no longer needing it. Cotton often leaves her entire room unlocked, with the exception being when she is in it- if one knocks, she'll typically let them in. Often struggles not to call those around her 'dear', as she's more used to being the eldest in the room.

    appearance
Somewhat hunched, though her recovering health on the path to vampirism seems to be lessening this feature. Cotton has a soft voice and a gentle presence, dressing in warm and full dresses with shawls she often knits for herself. She's a very stout old woman, whose face shows her age, but she often wears a smile no matter the situation. At first blush, Cotton seems to express the same amount of kindness to everyone- close fellows will note however, that she often puts a little extra details in her work for those she's fond of. Her eye color bleed forms rings.

    background
Born to a small village in the far, far north of Blue Court's territory, Camelia Cotton lived in a place where winters were long, and people were scarce. Her village banded together in a group emphasizing the benefits of cooperation and community for the sake of survival, a thing that Cotton would grow to live by.

Despite the frigidity of the region, her village would specialize in sheep trade- wool, meat, and even dairy were provided by the sheep, and Cotton would spend much of her life dangerously keeping watch over these sheep in a place where wolves were a real and great threat. Perhaps more than even the vampiric 'nightmares' they told old traditional tales about.

To that end, Cotton would be among the luckiest shepherds, and became beloved by her community for her kindness and caring. She would in particular make use of her free time to help others- one such person being a constantly ill boy close to her age, who the village could only make comfortable as they awaited the end. News of this boy apparently reached the court of Silver however- and so Cotton would come to her friend's home in time to watch as he was beguiled and led astray into the snow.

Rather than hide away or run in fear, Cotton would follow her friend until the Silver Vampire drawing him away took notice. Preparing for an inevitable casualty, the vampire would be pleasantly surprised when Cotton's only request was permission to say goodbye to her friend; a human mercy, but one that would not hinder their own desires. Cotton bid her friend farewell, and from there spent many, many years living a quiet and relatively peaceful life. She would outgrow her task of shepherding, watching and mentoring others in the field- often finding herself faced with their deaths in the process. Rather than marry and begin her own family, she would weather the unforgiving winters by instead helping with the children of others whilst their parents worked. Helping to cook, helping to create clothing, and so on.

This would persist for many years- until finally, just when it seemed she would be approaching her end, the Blue Court arrived at their tiny village with a sack of feathers for their Lottery. As was required, all would draw from the sack- and Cotton would draw out a White feather.

Arriving at the Castle, Camelia Cotton would thus step forward into an unexpected form of 'an end', one quite different to what she expected of her coming year or so. After all- this 'end' would bring forward a 'Beginning.'

ACTIVE TIMES/PACE: EST Nights; Quick when time overlaps, but assume 'slow' due to time mismatch.
BRACKETS/PROSE: Either is fine; I'll match
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: If possible, please avoid topics relating to Digital Existentialism (ie 'the world is fake here's why'), as well as detailed focus on tongues/saliva.

    IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Grandma loves hugs! She'll happily peck someone affectionately on the cheek as well, and will roll with similar in turn. For a kiss on the lip or more however, please message in advance!
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Message first to plan in advance please.
RELATIONSHIPS: Grandma is available, but while she might appreciate young adults from afar, she wouldn't be comfortable with making a serious move with anyone more than 10 years younger than she is. (For quick reference, she is 74)
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: Please ask in advance before digging in; it's easier to come up with information of this sort during thread planning.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: N/A for the time being.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: She's quite old as noted- 74- but in relatively good health all things considered. She's only improving now as a novice, but for the time being is still someone to be considered rather frail, and less than athletic.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: None come to mind at the moment, but this may change.

    OUT OF CHARACTER

    BACKTAGGING: Absolutely!
    THREADHOPPING: Sure, but message first!
FOURTHWALLING: Ask first but I'm not sure how likely it would be to begin with...
NOT INTERESTED IN: While some of my characters may be down for sexual interactions, I unfortunately am not comfortable threading smut on screen. If things begin moving in that direction, we need to fade to black and handwave from there.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL: Cotton is fairly pale, given the lack of plentiful sun far north. Her hair is kept in a short bob, and is sheer white from age. Her eyes are a pale blue at the moment, and she's quite short and stout; something only emphasized by dressing in thick robes and knit shawls or furs.
AURAL: She can be heard here.
OLFACTORY: Often smells like fresh baked goods; she loves to bake!
DEMEANOUR: Cotton is very peaceful seeming, and with her tendency not to react strongly to much, this is only emphasized. Very patient and kind, she's quite the image of a fairytale grandmother.

    Character Information

    Character Name: Cotton Cookie
    Character Pronouns: She/Her
    Canon: Cookie Run Kingdom
Canon Age: 70+ ..? (It's unknown, as she's simply considered 'Elderly')
Canon Point: Icicle Yeti's Winter Song
Canon Link: Cotton Cookie's History is here- however, the site doesn't note personalities down, so I'm summarizing that below.

    AU Information

AU Name: Camellia Cotton (known as 'Grandma Cotton', and 'Cotton' in prose)
    AU Age: 74
Physical Differences: Well. She's not a cookie. [Canned Laughter Here]

Camelia has the apperance of a wizened old woman, her hair long white with age, and her skin pale from a lack of sun. She originally dressed in thick pelts and knit accessories from her village, but after arriving to the castle this has been trimmed down to gowns, furs, and most notably knit shawls. The old woman stands rather short- only 5 foot- and has a somewhat thick build. Lots of 'circles' in that silhouette!
    AU History:
  • Camelia was born in a small village far far north in Blue court territory; winters were long, people scarce, and as such very close knit for their own safety.
  • Despite the northern region, one of the livelihoods of the village was sheep- for wool, for meat, and even occasional dairy.
  • Growing up, Camelia was a shepherd to these sheep- a dangerous responsibility, as more than any vampire, the village's primary threat was often creatures like wolves. And a young teenager with a stick...even one with a lantern on the end, was not much threat to such things.
  • Still, whether through luck or otherwise, Camelia survived where many others did not. While not tending to sheep, she often helped with other duties within the village, including the care of a sickly friend just a bit older than herself.
  • While watching over this friend, he would one day wander out into the snow- beckoned, or perhaps beguiled by someone. Camelia followed, quickly drawing the attention of the Silver Court vampire leading the young man away.
  • Camelia wouldn't argue too intensely with the vampire- while she didn't want to lose her friend, the boy would insist it for the best. Thus, the vampire allowed them the human mercy of a final goodbye, before disappearing with him...no doubt to be studied and preserved for his lifelong disease.
  • From here Camelia would continue a quiet- save more mundane terrors- life. She would outgrow the task of shepherding, and watch as others followed in her footsteps...often perishing. She would last through frigid famine winters, helping to teach the younger children while their parents oversaw other duties, helping to cook, create necessary clothing, and so on.
  • Eventually, close to what should have been the end of Camelia's life, a Finding would make its way up to the tiny sleepy village up north. It was not her first, scarce as they were- but this time, she pulled a white feather.
  • How Camelia survived the trip to the castle is perhaps a mystery, but the point is she did. She arrived, and as such underwent her Beginning, and along with it perhaps the dubious honor of being potentially older than some of the staff! ...Go Grandma.

AU Personality: The first point of obvious note is that Cotton isn't limited by the media portrayal of her canon- while CRK doesn't avoid heavy topics such as death and mortality, it very much glosses it for the sake of potentially younger audiences. That aside-

What with growing to a ripe old age in a land of vampires and more, Cotton has under her hat experience with a great matter of these darker points of reality. This hasn't changed her kindness, or even her determination, but it has added a layer of 'coping' one might say. Much like the Blue Court in itself perhaps, Cotton tends to focus on cheering others rather than dwelling on the darkness in the world...but in the same way, she's someone who can calmly talk about such darkness, accepting its presences and responding to it with a gentle hand. While capable of a firm tone when someone presses this patience, she finds calm disapproval works better for her, and thus prefers not to resort to raising her voice and shouting anymore. Violence only begets sour moods at best and more violence at worst, and she simply hasn't got time for it.

No shade to anyone else though; Cotton's accepting nature isn't a change exactly, but as with many of her personality 'changes', it's an elaboration that moves beyond the limits of her canon media. She doesn't judge most for their actions, however questionable they may be- she does her best to see it from the other perspective, offering advice for those who need it, and comfort for those with heavy hearts. And if need be, maybe even a little jab at 'the point' of a matter. Sometimes a needlepoint hard truth is what's needed, the salt in any sweet treat.

On a final note, she's an old single woman, but that doesn't mean she was always single; which is to say, she knows what happens at some of those parties, and isn't above commenting on it with a sly little smile.

  • Novice Information

    Starting Season: First Season
    Maker: Foundling
Anticipated Court: At the moment, there's no true anticipation here; Cotton is coming in as a Lottery Pick from the North, which means she's someone who could feasibly be matched with any Maker in need of a Novice.

That aside, if it comes down to various choices (as much as I'm still very amused by the gag idea of her getting along with Black court best), Blue is the most likely option. Cotton's canonic source and story involves a lot of the Blue Court's motto, with celebration and remembrance incredibly key.
